Becoming the Representative-elect of Scarborough’s District 127 was an honor. When the final results were in and it was clear that Republicans had taken majorities in  the State House and Senate, as well as the governorship, I realized just how historic our achievement was. Maine voters have entrusted our party with leadership at a critical juncture. I intend to do my part, first in seeking a meaningful committee assignment and then in working with both parties to move Maine toward prosperity.

I’d like to thank my husband, without whose encouragement I never would have been successful. I also thank my children who sacrificed so I could be out campaigning and will sacrifice more in the coming months. Thank you to Barry Lucier for taking over all of the bookkeeping and reporting. I appreciate all of my drivers, letter writers, and phone callers, especially my mother and father-in-law. A special thank you to Jen Jacobson who prayed for me and took care of my youngest so I could knock on doors. Though there are too many others to mention, each contributed to the success of this campaign and will watch with pride as this historical exchange of power heralds a brighter future for Maine.

I am in the process of putting together a constituent contact list. If you would like to be included, please email me at avolk@volkboxes.com. If you would like to discuss state matters with me, you may reach me at 229-5091.
