As a native Mainer, mother, community member, and pediatrician of almost 40 years, I’ve become sick with worry for our kids. Our governor and our president have done everything possible to make it harder for coming generations to thrive. They have worked to devastate health coverage, environment protection, public schools, and educational safeguards. Their policies only widen the gap between have and have-nots. Furthermore, their rude and selfish behaviors are a horrifying example for our children.

We need to vote, and we also need to elect candidates who are kind, thoughtful, honest, hard working, and care about people. If you believe that our public officials should have these qualities, then vote for state Sen. Eloise Vitelli, D-Arrowsic, in District 23 and for Attorney General Janet Mills for governor.

This is a huge and critical investment in our lives and those of future generations.
