When you’ve been involved in politics as long as I have you’d think it would be easy to become cynical or apathetic. But even though I started at 13 and it’s now 65 years later, I’ve always known I can’t afford to.

It matters to me who speaks for the values I hold dear. I care about preserving our environment, providing sound public schools, women’s choice over their own bodies, equal pay for equal work, the need to have health insurance, fair taxes, decent minimum wages, good roads and real support for our entrepreneurs.

So, I ask for your vote for the Democratic candidates who work for these issues: Rep. Peter Kent (House District 53), Sen. Eloise Vitelli (Senate 23), Mike Michaud (governor), U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, and Shenna Bellows (U.S. Senate).
