At the Yarmouth Transfer Station, I recently encountered Rick Snow, a Republican politician running against Democratic state Rep. Janice Cooper in House District 27.

I told him I thought Janice is a smart, hard-working person doing a great job for Yarmouth.

Snow stated he that he’s “running to fix the problems in Augusta.” When I responded that the problem in Augusta is Gov. LePage, Scott didn’t disagree and said he was undecided on the governor’s race.

In response to my question about his experience, he said he’d held a position in the LePage administration’s Bureau of Labor Standards. He agreed with me that Maine’s wage and hour laws are not being enforced.

He later recanted his indecision on the governor’s race and said he would be supporting Gov. LePage.

Like too many politicians, he is willing to say whatever he thinks I want to hear.
