As 2011 comes to a close I wanted to take a moment to thank the people of Falmouth for giving me their trust as the newest member of the Town Council. It has been an amazing experience from the start of our campaign last winter and spring, through the election, and now these early months as a councilor. It is a privilege to serve on a body with such intelligent, dedicated people as the other members of the Town Council. We may have different political points of view but are all 100 percent dedicated to the best possible future for our community.

It is also an honor to work with the strong team that Falmouth has assembled, from our town manager and the entire Town Hall staff, to the leaders of our world class civic institutions such as schools, police, fire and library. Not only are we well served as a community, but the community serves itself well. Our citizens are well informed, engaged and not afraid to speak out on issues. Our town committees are populated by an amazing array of professionals and leaders that bring incredible experience to their volunteer efforts on all of our behalf.

There is no doubt that we are living in challenging times and there is much to be done. But as we enter 2012, let’s also take a moment to reflect on and be thankful for what makes our community and our country the greatest place in the world to live.
