As the Maine Green Independent candidate in state House District 54, the message I hear from voters is that today’s politicians have lost touch with their constituents. Due to this feedback, I have invited both my opponents to participate in two town hall-style debates involving direct participation with the residents of the district.

I believe that voters deserve candidates who will respond to them directly. Town hall-style debates will encourage us to communicate with voters in a meaningful way. Talking to citizens openly and directly about their ideas for getting beyond party politics is what will work best for Mainers.

Whoever wins this election needs to be able to work with people of opposing views towards a goal of unity. People expect it. I look forward to hearing from all the candidates about their willingness to engage in these forums. Change begins with open and honest dialogue.
