In Congress, the tea party is again threatening to shut down the government unless Planned Parenthood is defunded. Investigations of Planned Parenthood have found no guilt. It has not been proven that all the recent emotional films were taken at Planned Parenthood facilities. The result is fraught with emotions, not facts.

The tea party does not respect the laws of our country that men and women are equal and abortion is legal. Abortion and miscarriages are a part of life, always have been. This is one more attack on women’s rights.

There is more to life than being born. Millions of children in our country go hungry. The tea party slashed the funding. Their caring seems to stop at birth. They care not for the women, girls and children who become pregnant. Their goal is to force births and deny all abortions no matter the circumstances.

The United States has a large number of religions with a diversity of religious beliefs and practices . No one religion has all truth. That is why we have separation of church and state.

No one wants an abortion. When an issue becomes emotional and drains energy from doing what our country needs for the good of all our citizens, is it not time for the tea party to trust God, not man, to make the judgment on abortion?
