Wow, what a surprise to see that Town Landing Market is being sold. Danny, well deserved! I know Dad was extremely happy that you and Stu did such a great job with it. While reading the Forecaster article and traveling down memory lane, the pictures reminded me of a little-known fact about “Fresh Native Ice Cubes.”

As with many items, these were born out of a need to satisfy customers. In 1960, my dad was getting multiple requests for ice cubes. His attempts to import them didn’t work too well. The product shrinkage was just simply too great. The solution was the ice-cube maker placed in the store, so the ice cubes could be grown right there. Yup, Fresh Native Ice Cubes.
