The 2017 Mill Creek HolidayFest Tree Lighting was a fabulous success, thanks to the generous contributions from our sponsors, the collaboration among our partners, and most of all, the hundreds of citizens who filled the park with seasonal spirit and happiness. This is a cherished annual event, and the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a part of it. The city of South Portland and its Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department are at work behind the scenes for weeks ahead of the event, stringing 5 miles of lights in the park’s trees and making other preparations.

The voices of South Portland’s middle school and high school chorus students, master of ceremonies Meghan Torjussen from WMTW Channel 8, Santa and his helpers in City Hall, concession tables stocked with goodies by the Parent Teacher Associations, Robotics Team, and Project Graduation, and the ever-popular horse and wagon rides by Stillbrook Acres, are the special ingredients of this magic event. Thanks to all whose cheerful and tireless efforts continue to light our community for this beautiful season.
