The Friends of the Scarborough Library would like to thank the many dedicated volunteers and patrons who helped make the 2016 Book Sale a success. During the annual four-day event, hundreds came to look for the perfect summer read. These funds help support the library in various ways. Once again, unsold items were donated to nonprofit organizations and Goodwill.

Our change of venue this year to the Scarborough High School would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of the School Department, especially Facilities Manager Todd Jepson and David Creech, principal of the high school. The maintenance people and custodial staff at the high school could not have been more helpful. We received many, many positive comments about the new venue.

Special thanks also go out to our invaluable volunteers, who deliver all of the donated books to the Public Works Department, where our tireless sorters work for months before the sale. Finally, SPW is to be highly commended, as they provide storage space for books throughout the year and transport books to the site before the sale. Many thanks to Mike Shaw, director of Public Works, and his crew for all their help.

Donations are once again being accepted at the library through the end of next May. Again, your donated books and purchases at the sale were appreciated. They signal your strong support of the library, as well as the Friends.
