As the Scouting for Food coordinator for Freeport and Pownal, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the members of our two communities for helping the Scouts with our recent food drive. In November, you donated thousands of pounds of food for the pantry at Freeport Community Services. In a wonderful collaboration, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from many different troops in Freeport and Pownal worked together to collect and sort your generous donations to fill both the pantry shelves and a record number of Thanksgiving baskets for families in our communities. The Scouting for Food program helps even our youngest Scouts learn the meaning of citizenship and community service, one can of food at a time. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
