Many thanks to the folks who cleaned up the shores of Maine this past weekend as part of the International Coastal Cleanup.

Special thanks to the crew from St. Mary the Virgin Church, who picked up trash along the shoreline of Mackworth Island and the causeway to it. Mackworth looks so pristine from afar, but the volunteers found ropes, plastic bags and bottles, buoys and all sorts of other debris – enough to fill up eight bags. Anyone missing one blue Croc?

David Snow, who has been helping out with the church cleanup since it started more than a dozen years ago, joined the group after running in the Senior Olympics Saturday. What dedication.
