One can’t help but wonder how many of The Forecaster’s advertisers qualify for Edgar Allen Beem’s characterization as a “slob” – that is, one for whom Gov. Paul LePage was the preferred choice in the recent election.

Lucky for the publisher, the paper doesn’t deal in paid subscriptions, or the reaction might have been substantial on another front.

Apparently, the paper manages to maintain its profit-mongering capitalist profile, in spite of frequent damning of such pursuits on the editorial pages from those who benefit from it. “The common good” reduced to the individual level, I suppose.
