It is premature for Trump devotees to be ecstatic over Attorney General William Barr’s summary of Special Council Robert Mueller’s two-year investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election – and too early for others to be distraught. Only time will shed daylight on the full scope and details of the investigation.

Richard Nixon’s presidency would have survived were it not for the tapes that proved obstruction beyond a reasonable doubt. The full Mueller report needs to be released to know if Barr is editing the main findings and why Mueller reached the findings he did.

Until then, both euphoria and despair are premature.
