The School Administrative District 51 community will have a chance to vote on the proposed 2010-2011 budget at the district budget meeting on June 3 and at the polls on June 8 for the District budget validation referendum. These upcoming votes are the next steps in what has been a difficult, spirited budget process. This year the process included greater opportunity for community involvement and has yielded a budget that represents a good compromise.
Please take the time to read the 51 Forum on the SAD 51 we site, as it provides information about our schools and the programs they provide as well as the proposed budget. The SAD 51 community is justifiably proud of our schools, which are the cornerstone of our two towns. In these challenging economic times, an investment in education is one of the soundest investments we can make. Please join me in voting yes to preserve our excellent schools.
