For the past four years I have been taking the Flyer bus to Portland and back at least once a week. Riding the bus saves me the hassle of finding a place to park, and dealing with traffic, pedestrians, etc. The Portland Public Library, Monument Square, the Maine Historical Society and many other places of interest are within easy walking distance of the Elm Street bus terminal, and from there it’s possible to transfer to bus lines going to other parts of the city, even to Westbrook and the Maine Mall.

If you haven’t ridden the bus yet, give it a try. The drivers are pleasant and the ride is relaxing. Public transportation cuts down on air pollution and traffic. Keep the ridership up and keep the Flyer running.
