The old definition of insanity has applied to Maine electoral politics for too long. People keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Continuing to send the same Democratic Party majority to the Legislature in Augusta while expecting they will somehow stop drowning Maine’s economy in a sea of government taxation and spending is truly nuts.

In Senate District 10, Republican Scott Thomas offers a rational alternative, and hope for better balance between the public and private sectors. He favors reducing our welfare economy, opening the health insurance market to true competition, and reducing per-capita government spending to levels in line with most other states. Without his kind of change the Legislature will address the looming budget deficit with its standard methods – shuffling funds around to mask the issues, while reaching deeper into all our pockets. It’s time to end the madness and vote a Republican majority into office, with Scott Thomas there for District 10.
