I am writing this letter to urge South Portland voters to vote yes on the South Portland High School referendum.
One of the main reasons my wife and I moved to South Portland more than a decade ago was the community support of the elementary school system. Our 10-year-old daughter has had a wonderful experience at Small Elementary School, and we look forward to it continuing in both the middle and high school levels.
We feel that our high school, as it stands now, is in need of a renewal. Sixty years ago, South Portland looked into the future and committed to building a wonderful High School, and it has served this community well. It is now our time to take a similar stand and be accountable to the students of the next 60 years.
Stand up, South Portland. Get the facts on this issue. Take a tour of the high school. Ask questions, get informed. Join your neighbors in support of renewing South Portland High School. It’s our time.
