I received an opinion survey from Rep. Michael Timmons and thought it odd that he would send it at the end of the term, rather than at a time when it would have had any value other than to boost his re-election campaign.

I have some questions for him:

• Why did you vote to sustain Gov. Paul Lepage’s veto of Land for Maine’s Future that included the money for Knight’s Pond that Cumberland citizens had worked over 10 years to procure?

• Why did you tell me to my face that you would vote to override Lepage’s veto of the solar bill and then “take a walk” so the override would fail? Putting party politics above the interests of your constituents is costing our state 400 to 600 good jobs and clean energy for the future.

• Why did you vote against affordable housing for seniors, against women’s reproductive health care, against an $8 minimum wage, against revenue sharing, and against safe drinking water?

Why didn’t you ask for our opinions sooner?
