I want to thank The Forecaster for its ongoing, informative coverage of the facilities issue in Falmouth. I am interested in this issue because I hope to see the Lunt and Plummer-Motz property kept in civic use. But the issue is complicated and has been in process for so long. I can’t often attend council meetings and it can be hard to keep up. I appreciate that I can count on The Forecaster’s articles and letters to the editor to keep me up to date.
It’s heartening to see that the Falmouth Town Council reached consensus at their last meeting and will most likely be sending the facilities issue to referendum in June. I’ve read the draft referendum online at the town website. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to understand. I encourage the council to create a clear and understandable question for residents to vote on in June.
