I will be voting to re-elect state Sen. Cathy Breen, D-Falmouth, in Senate District 25. During her first term she has been able to persevere in a challenging political environment, with successful efforts to get important legislation passed. As the ranking minority member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Committee, she played a key role in the effort to force issuance of the Land for Maine’s Future voter-approved bonds.
Her own family’s experience with the mental illness of a loved one has inspired her interest in mental health awareness and advocacy. Sen. Breen has worked with the Maine Children’s Alliance and the Maine Children’s Growth Council to support research into the problems of providing effective early childhood social and emotional services in preschools and day care centers. She is a champion of those in need.
Cathy is thoughtful, informed, and effective.
