As a frequent rider from my home in Scarborough to Bug Light Park in South Portland, I’ve been looking forward to the Wainright Fields-to-Broadway section of the Eastern Trail emerging from under the snow. On a recent sunny Saturday the number of other cyclists, joggers, walkers, and parents with children on this wooded stretch was roughly twice what I can ever remember seeing. Everybody seemed happy to be out and about. So here’s a strong chorus of thanks on behalf of all of us to the planners, contractors, members of Portland Trails, and many others who have contributed their efforts and financial support to the trails we enjoy. Let’s continue to work together towards ultimate completion of the East Coast Greenway.
