The Scarborough Public Library board of trustees would like to thank our users and the people of Scarborough for your patience while we expand and improve the safety of the parking lot. This project was planned to increase available parking and create a safer traffic flow, including well-marked pedestrian access and a new drop-off zone.

The work required removing the trees along Quentin Drive to provide space and drainage for the expanded lot. Some trees were replanted at other locations on the property, and new trees will also be planted in the parking area as part of the project.

The nature of the work also required the library to close for a week to complete repairs to the entry ways. We understand this has caused some inconvenience.

We would also like to thank Risbara Brothers for their excellent and expedient work on the project to date.

If anyone has any questions about the project, feel free to call the library at 883-4723. We encourage everyone to come to the library in the coming weeks to see the final result of the work and again, thank you for your patience and support.
