The Robbie Foundation wants to send a big shout-out to all the businesses, volunteers and community leaders who helped make our first Robbie 5K a huge success.

The event, which was held Sept. 14 at Portland’s Back Cove, drew more than 150 runners and walkers. The money from the event will go to improve the quality of life for special needs children and young adults in Maine.

Over the past several years, the Robbie Foundation has raised more than $75,000 to help families with children with developmental disabilities purchase adaptive technology and equipment, therapy treatments and other services that are not covered by insurance.
