I am so very discouraged by The Forecaster’s recent decision to pander to the public appetite for scandal by running a front-page story (of course, with photo) about a Scarborough council member’s arrest for OUI.
Usually I can’t stand the pages circulated on the Internet about how much better things were in “the good old days.” They generally weren’t. But in my memory, such an incident as the one you chose to headline would have at one time been treated with a certain discretion.
Beware to those who would serve their city, county or country. Make no mistakes, for in our winner-loser America, there is no compassion.
