As a senior citizen, I am at the stage when health becomes more fragile. I have the pain of severe rheumatoid arthritis, and I am grateful that I have good health insurance.  Every senior citizen should have access to health care.  However, this will soon not be the case for 5,600 seniors and disabled Mainers.

Our District 64 state representative, Kim Olsen, voted to eliminate prescription drug and other health-care assistance for over 5,600 of Maine’s seniors and disabled residents.  Without assistance from Maine’s Drugs for the Elderly and Medicare Savings Program, these costs can add up to thousands of dollars, forcing seniors and the disabled to choose between food and health care.

Candidate Jeremy Saxton, Olsen’s opponent from Harpswell, will support Maine’s neediest seniors and work with fellow legislators to find other, more humane ways to balance Maine’s budget. Vote for Jeremy on Nov. 6.
