Mark Verrill wrote in The Forecaster in March (“SAD 51 needs to hear from North Yarmouth,”) that closing North Yarmouth Memorial School had him “concerned that some of our residents’ home values may decrease as a result of losing our school.” I understand his concern, but if losing one school is bad, imagine the impact on home values from pulling out of the entire district. That’s why his petition to withdraw makes so little sense, and why I will be voting no.
