The Republican House continues its battle against a woman’s rights to contraceptives.

In a recent government funding bill passed by the House, the Republicans included an anti-contraceptive measure which would allow an employer that provides health benefits to its employees to remove birth control from the covered health services required by the Affordable Care Act.

This is a goal of the Tea Party’s Religious Right, which has shown no interest in supporting President Obama. It is about ousting Obama, our first elected black president, which in some cases is simply hatred of him.

It is shameful that a small faction of the Republican Party is allowed to dictate policy. Until Republicans assert their power in the best interests of our country, and their own party, our destiny is one of catastrophic proportions.
