We recently attended an event to meet and learn more about Janet Mills, the Democratic candidate for governor, and want to share what we learned:

• Mills has extensive leadership experience stemming from her work with organizations such as the Maine Women’s Lobby (the oldest such organization in the U.S.), in her service as a member of the appropriations committee in the state legislature and as attorney general.

• She wants to get things done in the state: expand access to health care, improve education (with an emphasis on vocational education), protect the environment, promote economic development to attract and retain talent to our state, and defend the rights of all Mainers.

• Mills is reasonable, accessible and has demonstrated that she will work across the aisle to make a difference.

We were very impressed with Janet Mills and urge you to support her candidacy on Nov. 6.
