Maine graduates 15,000 high school students every year. In comparison, 200,000 students graduate each spring in New York City. Maine does not have a single student to spare. Educating our rising workforce and keeping them in the state upon graduation are key to the growth and stability of Maine’s economy.

Rep. Teresa Pierce, D-Falmouth, understands the critical importance of quality public education. During her four years on the Joint Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs, Maine increased funding for K-12 education and provided more funding for valuable pre-K services. Teresa supported the Opportunity Maine Tax Credit that would reimburse student loan payments for college graduates that live and work in Maine, regardless of where they went to college.

I strongly support Rep. Teresa Pierce’s re-election in House District 44.
