I write you in support of Rep. Mary Nelson of Falmouth. During her tenure, she brought a new attitude to legislative life. She teaches us not to become dependent on others but to learn how to volunteer and realize that we are all in this together. She succeeded in strengthening the safety net. She was instrumental in introducing new approaches in the field of education. She is financially conservative in her attitude calling for a balanced budget without raising taxes. By doing so, the Legislature has eliminated 1,000 state jobs and at the same time strengthened the safety net. She is a thoughtful, learned and compassionate human being worthy to be our legislator.
