Rep. Joyce “Jay” McCreight, D-Harpswell, is running for her third term in House District 51 (Harpswell, West Bath and East Brunswick). Jay is hardworking and well-informed and I am proud to have her as my representative.
Because she listens so well, she is keenly aware of what Mainers need and has been instrumental in sponsoring legislation critical to our health and our economy.
Jay has accomplished so much. For example, she sponsored bills that improve child safety and teacher training in adolescent mental health. Jay effectively represents those who make their living in our fisheries, sponsoring legislation that improves temporary medical waivers, allowing seriously ill or injured lobster license holders to continue earning a living. As House chairwoman of the Opioid Task Force, Jay led the bipartisan effort to address this devastating epidemic.
