Over the course of the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with the chairman of the Scarborough Town Council, William Donovan. I have come to greatly admire Bill, his consistent and steady leadership, and his deliberate approach.

Bill has mentored me on a number of thorny issues, as I’ve acclimated to my first year on the council. He is generous with his time, and we speak on the phone two or three times a month to discuss items on the upcoming council agendas.

Bill works diligently to ensure that councilors communicate effectively with each other and town staff, and that the public is afforded opportunity for input on all items that come before the board.

On Nov. 8, we have an opportunity to re-elect a dedicated, fair, and thoughtful civil servant, who can provide experienced leadership on the Town Council. I will be voting for William Donovan.
