I endorse Bill Donovan for Town Council. Bill has done a good job as councilor and as chairman. He champions senior citizen’s concerns. He worked hard and successfully to keep our property tax increases to around 3 percent. He bravely and honorably recused himself from a potential conflict-of-interest vote. He speaks of and practices civility and transparency in public discussions. Now he wants to improve the senior property tax relief program, find ways to compost and save money, pursue public lighting cost-saving measures as a result of the recent PUC rule making, and make sure the upcoming Comprehensive Plan review and facilities plan review are done well. I find those goals worthy of re-election.
