I write to wholeheartedly support Democratic state Rep. Janice Cooper for re-election in House District 47. Janice is strong, thoughtful, straightforward and smart. She has vigorously advocated for issues that are important to us and also to Maine’s future, including environmental protection and reducing toxic substances in household products, a fairer tax code, and health insurance coverage to low income Mainers. Her newsletters are engaging and informative. In debates, she answers the questions and demonstrates her vast knowledge of the issues.
Although she works long and hard as a legislator, she has helped Firehouse Arts launch and thrive. Her work in the legislature is a fitting tribute to her beloved daughter, Becky, who was the sole girl on the Yarmouth High boys’ varsity hockey team. They shared not only the kind of grit we need in the Legislature, but also the joy and bright light of working to make the world a better place.
