I am writing in support of state Rep. Ben Chipman’s re-election to the Maine Legislature. As a member of the School Board, I follow our state officials’ work in regard to education.
Last spring, when students at the University of Southern Maine protested cuts to faculty and courses, Chipman stood with them. He took action in Augusta and through his intervention proposed cuts were halted and faculty and students were given a voice.
With continuing budget crises unfolding at USM, I know Rep. Chipman is dedicated to working hard to preserve a strong and robust educational institution. He understands the crucial role state government plays in preserving this educational gem for our city and our state.
I encourage all of my neighbors in House District 40 to join me this November in voting to re-elect independent Rep. Ben Chipman.
