State Rep. Ben Chipman is seeking re-election to the Maine House of Representatives from District 40, and he has my endorsement. First elected in 2010, I have known Ben Chipman to be an incredibly effective legislator.

One of the first things Chipman did in office was help to stop a major state budget cut to General Assistance that was proposed by the governor. He transported constituents to Augusta, spoke at public hearings, and worked tirelessly until the funding was restored. Through Ben Chipman’s efforts, hundreds of low-income renters were saved from going homeless.

This is one example of the type of leadership that Rep. Chipman brings to Augusta. As a city councilor I know the value of having strong legislative partners representing us in state government. It is crucial that we support independent Rep. Ben Chipman in his election to a third term. He is a proven leader who gets results.
