Sen. Everett “Brownie” Carson, D-Brunswick, has had an admirable record of accomplishment for a first-term senator. He was the lead sponsor of a bill to update and strengthen Maine’s mining laws that was enacted over the governor’s veto. He serves on a health care task force charged with developing a new plan to cover Maine residents, and was the driving force behind passage of a bill, also enacted over the governor’s veto, to restore our public health nursing service.

These achievements demonstrate one of Carson’s most important qualities – he has the ability to develop bipartisan solutions to Maine’s challenges. He values people and their ideas, is committed to building partnerships across the political spectrum, and has the character and skills needed to help restore civility to the legislative process.

Carson has the right mix of experience, knowledge, and energy to continue to represent us superbly. Let’s re-elect him in Senate District 24.
