In the age of the internet, society is getting very partisan. Now more than ever we need competent, fair people in our government. I had the opportunity to meet one of these people: state Sen. Cathy Breen, D-Falmouth. Yarmouth High School has a Career Exploration Program each year, and this past year I contacted Sen. Breen in hopes that she would allow me to shadow her in the Senate. She kindly accepted, introducing me to many influential members of the state government and giving me real-time, hands-on experiences. From a teenager’s point of view, having this perspective was much different from the stream of political media we are spoon-fed; I urge all voters in Senate District 25 to cast their vote for Sen. Breen in November.
