I have lived in South Portland longer than I have ever lived anywhere in my life: 17 years and counting. My home is also one of my life goals: I want to be able to say “I have lived in this house for 20 years.” It is where I hope to take my last breath. That is why I am for the Waterfront Protection Ordinance. However, I have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. If those smoke stacks were built by Bug Light, I would have to move or live in virtual captivity, with some sort of filter system that may exist. And if I had to move, how much financial loss would I have to accept? I know I am not alone. Protect our air, our water and the beauty of our coast line. It is important to protect South Portland. Vote for the Waterfront Protection Ordinance.
