The roots of the opioid epidemic are multifaceted and it is therefore unlikely that a comprehensive solution will be achieved without thoughtful and creative approaches. State Rep. Teresa Pierce, D-Falmouth, understands this and has helped our state combat this epidemic by supporting bills like LD 925, which included funding to support law enforcement-assisted diversion programs, funding for access to more drug treatment courts, and make it easier to receive federal dollars to support evidence-based treatment. Teresa has participated in a non-partisan forum to help state officials shape public policy, through the Toll fellowship awarded by the Council of State Governments. Teresa knows we must mobilize our best efforts in this crisis, including not only local initiatives, but also tapping into regional insights and approaches. Please join me in supporting Teresa Pierce for another term in District 44, so she can continue her strong leadership on the opioid crisis.
