I’m a walker. In my travels on Route 88, I am sick to report that I have seen 11 different postings for missing cats and two postings for missing little dogs in the last few months.

Our pets are part of our families, and my heart goes out to everyone who is desperately hoping for an animal’s safe return. While I don’t want to cause further worry, people in our area have seen fishers and coyotes, so please keep your pets in, particularly at night (although my vet told me her neighbor was “stalked” by a coyote in broad daylight as he walked along the boundary of his wooded lot).

Outdoor cats adapt to staying indoors over time, and with colder weather approaching, maybe now is the right time to make an outdoor cat an indoor cat.
