We were on our way to the movies last night when we heard that a friend’s son would be performing with a group of other students at North Yarmouth Academy. We ditched the movie and went instead to the concert. They should have charged admission. That was the best entertainment I’ve experienced in a very long time. The performance was the culmination of a semester’s work by the students in the studio band. There were more than a dozen students of various ages and abilities, singing, trading off instruments, and belting out music with abandon. The camaraderie, talent, and excitement of these musicians were exhilarating, and I felt so lucky to be part of the evening. Congratulations to the Studio Band of 2014.
