I believe that moving the Falmouth Memorial Library from its current location up the road to the Lunt School makes a great deal of sense. The town has seen many changes and many new people have moved here. The current location does not have sufficient room for the children, computers, meeting spaces, activities, and the collection that is now needed.

We have realized for the last three years that the library needs more space and that the possibility existed for the reuse of the school buildings to give us that space. Lunt School would be a great choice for the library and is the right direction to move.

The space at the present location will always be questionable for expansion in the future. Although the American Legion has offered shared parking, parking will continue to be a big problem as the town and library usage continues to grow.

The move will give the library more space and will not increase the tax burden. The referendum offers an opportunity and a great vision for the future of Falmouth, and I hope you will join me in voting yes on Question 1.
