As a Democratic candidate for House District 51, Mainers are generously taking their time to share their concerns with me: the senior citizen from West Bath barely scraping by on Social Security, the young Brunswick resident excited about voting for the first time, the Harpswell parent concerned about Maine’s schools meeting the needs of all children, and residents throughout the district who know we need to work hard to develop many more good-paying jobs.

I am grateful for the help of dedicated volunteers who have shared their valuable time, because being listened to and represented well in Augusta is what each of us wants from our legislators.

Clearly, what we all have in common is our pride in and concern for our communities, our state and our economy, and the preservation of Maine’s heritage and traditions.

I am eager to get to work in Augusta, and I ask for your vote.

Joyce “Jay” McCreight
