Jay is tireless in supporting improved access to health care in Maine. On the Health and Human Services Committee, Jay worked with Democrats, Republicans and independents to pass 4 bills to expand access to critical health care and improve economic security. Jay recognizes that health care, affordability, and economic security are intertwined; the bills she sponsored will help reduce the burden of health care costs on Mainers.
Jay led the Opioid Task Force. In 2017, 418 Mainers died from overdoses. Jay sponsored bills to create access to treatment, safe housing, and services to help people recover. These bills are awaiting action.
