Voters in state Senate District 24 are fortunate that Democrat Brownie Carson is a candidate. During his tenure at the Natural Resources Council of Maine, Brownie was at the forefront of environmental policy in Maine. Brownie is experienced at working with the Legislature and shaping public policy. Brownie will hit the ground running.
Brownie is a problem solver and a bridge builder. Those skills were demonstrated during the 1990s, when he worked with paper and forestry businesses to develop policy to change forestry practices in Maine. That work took great political courage, because it strained support with political allies while extending trust to political adversaries. Brownie did it because it was the best result for all of the people of Maine. That principled leadership is needed more now than ever.
