On behalf of the trustees, staff and patrons of Falmouth Memorial Library, I  would like to thank the Town Council for unanimously supporting the library’s request to send a bond referendum to the voters in November.

If passed, the bond would permit the library to move forward with a much-needed renovation and expansion at its current location. The project cost would be split 50/50 between the town of Falmouth and donations from the community – approximately $2.8 million each. The tax impact of the bond on a home with an assessed value of $400,000 would be approximately $32 a year for the term of the bond – about the same cost as a single hardcover book.

I urge the public to learn more at the library’s website or at one of our public meetings, and to vote yes for the library in November.
