I recently went to the Falmouth Memorial Library and borrowed a couple of audiobooks to keep me company in the car. As I have often before, I thought what a wonderful resource we have in the library. Returning to live in Falmouth as I have after a 30-plus-year absence, it is a pleasure to go back to the familiar place where I once took my young children and to find it not only thriving, but about to undertake an expansion. In my years away from here, I have travelled the world and seen again and again – in every state, and many other countries – how a library is the heartbeat of a community. One sees that, and feels that, in Falmouth. Let’s hope the voters agree.
