Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the Sewer District and how it’s run. Maybe we should, since we’re all connected to it from our homes, businesses and schools. The Sewer District in Freeport also sits little more than a football field’s length from the Harraseeket River.

I’m delighted to support someone who is running for a seat on the Sewer District board and who cares deeply about making the system work as well as it possibly can and has experience in these issues. What Sally Leland brings to the Board is a positive inquisitiveness and a desire to explore issues that affect the efficiency of the plant, its ability to support community growth and needs, and ultimately how the plant affects our environment.

Freeport will be well served by her, and I hope you’ll join me in voting for Sally Leland for the Sewer District Board of Trustees.
